X58-OC makes hardcore OC Aussies happy – PC Power Play Magazine

Australian print magazine PC Power Play recently published a review of our GIGABYTE X58-OC motherboard, the world’s first high-end motherboard designed specifically for hardcore overclockers. IMG_0515Reviewer Matt Wilson had this to say about the built-in overclocking features and the how the boards target market will appreciate the overclocking potential that lies within:

After warm up runs, we gave the OC-Touch feature a work through, upping the BLCK frequency a good chunk and managing to score a healthy 4.73 GHz overclock (225x21)….The reason this board can overclock further (on air) than other boards we have had in the past is due to voltage stability. Instead of pumping through higher voltages to iron out any ripples, this power delivery system manages to deliver clean power to the CPU, therefore lowering the overall voltage required. We aren’t talking insane levels here, but you’d be surprised how much extra heat 0.06v can produce when you are already pushing 85C on an air cooler.

..for that 1% of hardcore overclockers, this board is definitely the best choice you’ve got. Make the decision: genuine gaming comfort, or simple overclocking insanity?

As a print magazine, of course we’re unable to supply a URl. However Australians can no doubt grab a copy at their local newsagent.

Intel's CEO Paul Otellini attracted some interest during yesterday's earnings conference call when he told analysts that the next generation of 22 nm of processors will feature a "revolutionary" process technology.
They also confident that this revolutionary on 22nm process will win the competition across all segment of computing. However, the CEO told Citigroup's Glen Yeung, that he really can't discuss the features and he would have to wait until the analyst day event in May.  Just to make sure for the consumers that they really serious about this, Intel highlighted that it dramatically increased its capital expenditures and R&D spending up to $10.2 billion this year. And that’s why they really confident that someday it could be a big steps from Intel over the next 24 months.
And not stop till that one, Intel also want increase their development by doing a research for 14nm process and it’s the one effort to keep its rivals at a distance and cash in on its process technology advantage. Intel also noted that the first smartphone by Medfield will build in 32nm and it only takes 12 months. At 22nm desktop processor will ‘intercept’ the smartphone processor roadmap tablet/phone processor will move to 22 nm as well. Sony EE34: Sony Makes Budget AMD Laptops?

You can't buy it from Sony's website. If you blinked you might have missed the news popping up on a couple of different sites about its existence. If you were on the phone with me when I called Jarred about it, you might even have shared his reaction: "Sony makes a budget AMD laptop?" But sure enough they do, and we have a  budget Sony EE34 notebook on hand that's liable to raise more than a few eyebrows. Around $600 for a Sony Vaio AMD-based notebook with a Blu-ray drive standard? They make those?

Power Failure Makes SQL Server Database Suspect

type="html">Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Windows CE Edition is a compact database to develop applications in both the native mode and .NET Compact Framework, which extend the enterprise data management abilities to devices. The new version of Microsoft SQL Server CE offers improved query capabilities and database engine. However, in some situations, you may encounter database corruption after improper system shutdown. It leads to critical data loss situations and you need to opt for SQL Database Recovery solutions to get your data back.

An explicit reset or a power failure, which occurs during the transaction commit may mark the SQL 2000 Windows CE database is marked as suspect. You may not recover your Microsoft SQL database, even through the Compact method. The Compact and CompactDatabase method are similar. The method, which you use, is dependent upon development that is used to develop the database.

Grounds of the issue

You may come across this issue when any of the below actions occur while committing a transaction:

You reset the Microsoft Windows CE device.
The Microsoft SQL Server application closes unexpectedly.
Microsoft SQL Server stops responding.

You Microsoft SQL database is marked as suspect, if this issues occur. The transaction commit admits all DML (Data Manipulation Language) statements, which aren't explicitly in transaction. The database may be left in unrecoverable state, depending upon the stage of writing the data from temporary database and SQL Server cache.

Resolution

The Compact method tries to repair and restore a suspect Microsoft SQL Server database. However, Compact method might not Recover SQL database.

Go through the below guidelines for minimizing the effects of this issue:

Always keep an updated backup of your SQL Server database on any external storage media.
Add progress bar to the application for preventing other users from performing explicit reset while performing data manipulation operations.
Keep the transactions short. You can use the explicit transactions, which encompass a small amount of work.

You can effectively repair and restore your database Microsoft SQL Server database through third-party applications, known as MS SQL Recovery software. They throughly scan the entire database through advanced scanning techniques to restore all the database objects. The SQL Recovery applications come equipped with simple graphical user interface and thus do not demand sound and prior technical skills.

SQL Recovery is the most comprehensive tool that ensure absolute recovery in most of the database corruption scenarios. The software works well with Microsoft SQL Server 2008, 2005, and 2000. It restores all database objects, such as tables, reports, formats, constraints, triggers, and stored procedures.

Naveen Kadian is a self employed Internet entrepreneur and product reviewer. This SQL recovery utility is extremely useful when the database gets corrupted due to internal program errors, hardware malfunctioning, accidental deletion of data and more. This SQL recovery software recovers all types of database components including triggers, tables, stored procedures and more.
