Asus Eee PC 1215B-SIV031M

Two Netbook Asus Eee PC processors adopt the APU from AMD, The Asus brand, mother of the netbook, has extended its range of small laptops with two references C-50 APU from AMD.

Asus finally launching netbooks with two AMD platform Brazos. The Eee PC 1015B (10.1 inches) and 1215B (12.1 inches) retain the aesthetic standards of the range: a frame with rounded corners, a shiny plastic top cover (1015) or matt (1215), and pegs matt hands normally. Chiclet keyboard is the rendezvous, as the wide multipoint touchpad.

The two plates do not offer the same definition, but both are brilliant.

Disappointing launch configuration

The screen offers a definition 1215B HD (1366 x 768 pixels). To animate this small PC, Asus has opted for an AMD C-50. A questionable choice considering the competition Machinery 11.6 and 12.1 inches embarking all E-350 (the DM1-3135 from HP, for example). Asus ensures however that the implementation of the APU is included in the 1215B, but only at the next quarter. The rest of the setup is classic: 4 GB of DDR3 memory, 500 GB hard drive (5400 rpm only), a Wi-Fi module n, full connectivity (USB 2 and 3, HDMI port, VGA port, Ethernet). Asus also offers access to the Web Storage to store data online (offer 60 days free). This 12.1-inch screen netbook will be available in three colors (black, gray and red), with 6 cell battery and is expected to weigh 1.45 kg.

Listed at a price of $ 399, the 1215B-SIV031M should be available soon. We do not recommend this configuration.

Better to wait for the next quarter or opt for the HP machine mentioned above. Finally, several configurations should be available following the signs, with specificities different from those announced here.
